Helenius: Will I retire? Time will tell

Finn lost to Wilder in the first round

Finnish boxer Robert Helenius (31–4, 19 KOs) commented on his defeat Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) at a boxing night in Brooklyn.

“I’m fine. I’m a little sad because I thought I could do better. But he just caught me. This is boxing. Congratulations to Wilder, he is a good man. I have a lot of respect for him.”

“I am pleased to see that in our sport there are good guys who experience true love and respect. I feel humble. I’m glad I lost to an opponent like Wilder. I’m alright”.

“Will I finish my career? For now, I can not say it. Time will tell,” Helenius concluded.

The fight took place at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn. Deontay knocked out Helenius in the first round.

Wilder’s victory over Robert made the American a contender for the WBC heavyweight championship belt held by Tyson Fury.
