The Commission of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has suspended multiple winner and laureate of All-Russian and International Regatta Sergey Kadin for three years – until September 27, 2025.
According to , the drug, which was found in a 21-year-old kayaker and canoeist, is a hormone produced by the placenta of pregnant women and boosts testosterone production in men.
The drug found in an athlete’s body is human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). Kadin’s suspension is counted from October 5, 2022, with the provisional suspension served. The 21-year-old canoeist is a master of the sport, multiple winner and laureate of All-Russian and international regattas. He played for Moscow, trained at the school of the Olympic reserve No. 2.
Chorionic gonadotropin is a hormonal drug that is isolated from the urine of pregnant women. It is widely used for the prevention and treatment of infertility, stimulates ovulation in women and spermatogenesis in men. Known in sport since the Moscow Olympics in 1980, it is used to improve physical performance – in particular, as an anabolic agent to gain muscle mass.
