Coaches Sergei Voronov and Igor Shpilband were excluded from the list of candidates for the Russian national teams due to the absence of their students in the national teams, Olga Yermolina, press officer of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR), told TV game.
Besides Voronov and Shpilband, the specialists who no longer work with the Russian team are Svetlana Lyapina, Nikita Moser, Leonid Raitsin, Svetlana Mironenko and others.
“The coach is part of the Russian national team if he has students in the team,” Yermolina told .
For the past two years, Shpilband has worked with dance duo Gleb Smolkin and Diana Davis. After the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, the duo worked with Alexei Kilyakov.
Voronov was for one season one of the coaches of the sports couple Evgeny Tarasov / Vladimir Morozov. He helped them practice sliding, spinning and jumping elements.
