National Team Head Coach Russia in artistic gymnastics Valentina Rodionenko in a conversation with , she explained that the disqualified Ivan Kulyak will not be able to participate in international competitions before the month of May.
Earlier it became known that the Russian gymnast Kulyak will miss the Belarus Open Championship due to his non-admission to the tournament by the organizers.
– This is nothing new. He is disqualified by the International Gymnastics Federation. He was in the application – Belarus refused to accept him, they are also subordinate. It is here in Russia that we can make our decision – they cannot do it there. We expected it. Disqualification ends in May. He will perform at our competitions, but not at internationals. No federation will be replaced, Rodionenko told .
The organizer of the Belarusian championship is the Belarusian Gymnastics Association, which remains a member of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and, as an affiliated federation, must comply with all FIG requirements. In July, the disqualified Kulyak was forced to miss the Russian Cup in Kaluga due to the tournament organizer being the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Federation, which is also a member of the International Gymnastics Federation.
Previously, the International Gymnastics Federation partially granted Kulyak’s appeal to be suspended from international competitions, the period of disqualification will be one year – until mid-May 2023, regardless of the situation with the suspension of Russian and Belarusian gymnasts in international competitions under the auspices of the FIG. Kulyak was sanctioned by the Gymnastic Ethics Foundation Disciplinary Commission for participating in the awards ceremony with the letter Z on his uniform during the World Cup, held in early March in Doha.
