Danielyan: “I need to be fit to calm my nerves”

Russian figure skater Artur Danielian after performing the short program in the second stage of the St. Petersburg Cup, he explained why he decided to participate in the tournament.

– I’m out of competition here. It’s a start in Saint Petersburg, I’m still in the Moscow team. A few days before the start, I hinted to the coaches – let’s play! They supported. Before the Grand Prix I have more than two weeks. Why not practice? I need to get back in shape to calm my nerves. Wait for me tomorrow too!

How would you rate your performance today?

– Generally good. I have a jackdaw for salchow, that’s right. Walkway on third level so not ideal. In any case, it’s already better than the Panin-Kolomenkin memorial.

“Keep in touch with your Muscovite friends after the move?”

“Of course, where are they going? I communicate with everyone, I wait for everyone to visit. Recently, my mother came to visit me, prepared some treats. I am very happy, I missed you. Haven’t seen each other in over two months?

– Does group sparring help you?

I see it more as an incentive. They jump quads – I watch and take something for myself. We play: each with two salchow attempts, for example. Whoever jumps better than them, congratulations! said Danielian.

Danielyan will perform on the Grand Prix stages in Kazan and Samara.
