The Ukrainian wrestler at the tournament in Budapest took third place in the category up to 97 kilograms.
Vladlen Kozlyuk won another medal for the Ukrainian team at the European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship in Budapest. The athlete finished third in the weight category up to 97 kilograms.
In the decisive match, our athlete defeated Norwegian Felix Baldauf, who became champion in Europe in 2017. Without giving the Scandinavian a point, Kozlyuk was confident that he had defeated his opponent by a score of 8: 0.
Note that the 25-year-old athlete for the first time in his career performed in the continental championship in seniors. Prior to that, he only had awards at the youth and junior levels.
For the Ukrainian team, this is the second award of the European Championship in Budapest. Earlier, Alexander Grishin also brought Ukraine a bronze medal in the up to 63 kilos category.
We also noticed that on the way to the medal, Kozlyuk defeated last year’s vice-world champion to juniors Tyron Sterkenburg (7: 2) from the Netherlands in the 1/8 finals, and in the quarterfinals he clinched the bronze medalist of JWCH 2019 Beytulla Kaishdaga (8: 4) from Turkey. In the 1/2 finals, the Ukrainian lost to 2018 world vice-champion Kirill Milov (1: 7) from Bulgaria.
