The Ukrainian women’s team has the opportunity to play in the Olympic Games for the first time in a long time.
The groups of the women’s Olympic qualifying volleyball tournament have been determined.
A blind lot has been determined for the Ukrainian national team of a place in Group C, where the rivals of the “blue-yellows” are the teams of Brazil, USA, Poland, Belgium, Bulgaria, Puerto Rico and South Korea.
The composition of the other two qualifying groups is as follows:
Group A: Serbia, Japan, Turkey, Germany, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Peru;
Group B: Italy, China, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Thailand, Czech Republic, Argentina, Slovenia.
Note that 12 women’s volleyball teams will play in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. So far, only one participant in the tournament is known – the French team, which reached the Games as the host.
The licensed Olympic volleyball tournament will be held from 16 to 24 September 2023.
Recall that Ukrainian volleyball players for the first time since 1996 have the opportunity to play at the Olympics.
