The Ministry of Youth and Sports summarized the disappointing results of the Russian invasion.

Vadim Gutzeit called for the removal of representatives of the Russian Federation and Belarus from international sports and a ban on the broadcasting of sports competitions in these countries. This happened in a speech at the conference of sports ministers of the Council of Europe. The Minister of Youth and Sports himself announced this on his social network page.

The official also told the delegates about the number of casualties among athletes and coaches as a result of the mass attack in the Russian Federation.

Russia’s “neutrality” is hypocritical. We should not count on their false statements while bombs and rockets explode in the peaceful streets of Ukrainian cities.

This war has caused us heavy losses. We will rebuild the destroyed stadiums and sports palaces, but nothing will bring back the lives of our athletes and coaches. They died on the battlefield, in their homes from enemy bullets

Russia and its satellites must answer for all crimes committed. Called for more severe penalties:

– remove the national sports bodies of the Russian Federation and Belarus from international sports federations;

– free all people associated with aggressor countries from influencing international sports federations: remove them from boards and organizing committees;

– prohibit the participation of representatives of the Russian Federation and Belarus in international competitions in any capacity;

– to ban the broadcasting of all sporting events in these countries.

These steps need to be taken not tomorrow, but today. After all, the next 2023 will be the qualifying year for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The aggressor countries do everything to participate in them. We will not allow it.

He called on partners to be united and strong in defending Olympic values and a stable world for Ukraine and Europe. We hope for unity and support,” Gutzeit wrote.

It will be recalled that Ukraine previously complained to the IOC about the actions of the leadership of the International Boxing Association.
