In the city of Caxias do Sul in Brazil, the Games for hearing -impaired athletes have come to an end.
The Ukrainian national team has successfully completed the Deaflympiad-2021, held in the city of Caxias do Sul in Brazil. Our athletes topped the medal standings from the first day of competition and they confidently held first place throughout the tournament.
As a result, the Ukrainians became out of reach in the medal standings for rivals three days before the official end of the Games. The Summer Deaflympiad culminated in the finals of football matches and marathon races. Ukraine on the last day was able to win another gold – in men’s football.
As a result, the Ukrainian team is confident of winning the Deaflympiad medal standings. In total, our athletes won 138 medals: 62 gold, 38 silver and 38 bronze. Thus, the performance of the Ukrainians became a record for our team throughout the history of performances. Most of the awards were won in swimming and athletics.
