Athletistic/ Others. Gymnast Elizaveta Polstyanaya has decided to end her career due to her departure from the Latvian Gymnastics Federation and her inability to perform at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
“I am officially announcing my retirement. I made this decision a long time ago, but I was only able to announce it today.
Of course, the main reason for what happened is my exclusion from the Latvian national team. In sport, we don’t think of anything, but I had a plan to prepare the selection for the Paris Olympics. The European Championship was my last start”, quotes TASS Polstyanaya.
Earlier, Polstyanaya said that her name had been removed from the Latvian national team’s bid for the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Sofia due to the fact that she had not renounced Russian citizenship.
