In an interview with , Daria spoke about the state of figure skating in her region, her emotions after playing in the Olympic arena, and also who inspires her the most.
– For you, this is the first experience of participating in Russian competitions. What are your impressions ?
– In general, I was very worried, because these were the first starts of such a serious level for me. Moreover, this is the first tournament for CCM. I have just passed the first sports category, then immediately a new series of jumps, a program, a dress. I also skated recently with a new coach. In principle, the impressions are very good. Naturally, I will continue to work.
‘You represent Crimea. What city are you from?
– From Simferopol, but sometimes I train in Yalta.
How long have you been practicing figure skating?
– Eight years, but I skated in different schools. Now I have been performing for several months under another trainer.
– So you continue to train in Crimea?
– Yes. I did not think of moving to study in another region.
– In general, how do you assess the state of figure skating on the peninsula?
– Of course, in the Crimea it is not as developed as in Moscow and other large cities of Russia. However, this sport is growing there, and I think they will continue to work on figure skating there.
– You played for two days at the Iceberg, where the 2014 Olympics were held. Did you feel any kind of jitters about that?
– Naturally, these are incredible emotions. Although during the program they all mix together, and it’s not clear what you feel at the moment. But I just started riding in such serious competitions, so for me it’s always unforgettable.
– Probably, I want to come back to such tournaments more often …
– Yes. When you’re here, at first it’s very scary, but then you get used to it, you get energy from competitions of this level.
– How much does it stimulate rivalry at these stages with skaters who have been talked about in the media for several years, and off the ice there are coaches who are probably idols for you?
“It definitely motivates me. I immediately want to jump over my head. At such a time, you understand that you need to work even harder in training and take part in such competitions as often as possible, to be close to such eminent athletes and coaches.
– Soon the adult stage of the Russian Grand Prix will begin here, where there will be many stars of figure skating. Will you stay watching?
“Unfortunately, I will not be able to stay and watch live. But I will definitely watch on the road while I go to Crimea.
– Who is your guide in women’s skating?
– I really like Kamila Valieva, her jumps, her pirouettes. I try to imitate him. I can say the same about Alexander Trusova. I love her emotions and the way she moves our sport, sets world records. In general, I regularly take care of all the girls, I respect them. But these two athletes inspire me the most.
Have you ever had contact with them?
– Among the famous skaters, I took an autograph of Alina Zagitova. I really want to meet Valieva, but so far it has not been possible.
— She will be in Kazan in a week. will you come
I don’t know, we’ll see (laughs).
