Gymnast Semukhina will undergo leg surgery and will miss about 2-3 months

Russian gymnast Arina Semukhina suffered a dislocated knee joint and a fractured epicondyle, due to which she will miss about 2-3 months, the head coach of the Russian national gymnastics team told TV game. Valentina Rodionenko .

Semukhina, 17, was injured when landing on a jump during a tournament in Mogilev.

“There’s nothing particularly terrible about it. Of course, we try not to harm there, we don’t touch anything ourselves. She has a dislocated knee joint, as well as a broken epicondyle. Today the ambulance took her to the children’s hospital, she has to have an operation. I think in 2-3 months she will be back in training. She has twisted her leg on landing, and her legs are still fragile, after all, she is a 17-year-old girl. We were also scared at first, and there was even a panic. We called the FMBA, they said to bring it to them, to look at them. And they found out that there was nothing to worry about, for gymnasts, unfortunately it is a normal injury. In a week, we will recover it, it will be restored at the base of Lake Krugloye,” Rodionenko told a correspondent.
