Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Alisa Efimova, who competes in pair skating, said that before changing sport citizenship and joining the German federation, she tried to find a new partner in Russia.

“I kept in shape and at the same time I was looking for a partner. There were tests with several guys, but it didn’t work out with anyone. I didn’t consider a particular coach. It all depended on the “where the partner was. I was ready to join a new group of coaches, to find the right person. “The main desire was to continue playing for Russia. For more than six months, I searched for options to stay permanently, but I never found it,” says Efimova.

Alisa was born and raised in Finland and until 2014 represented that country in individual skating at the junior level. However, the figure skater always wanted to compete in pair skating, and in Finland it was difficult to find a suitable partner and coach, so Efimova moved to Russia.

Alisa teamed up with Alexander Korovin, with whom she won the Russian Cup in 2018 and Universiade gold medals in 2019. After the 2020 Russian championship, the couple broke up and Efimova started looking for a new partner. Unable to find a match in Russia, the skater changed her sporting citizenship to German and teamed up with Germany’s Ruben Blommart, with whom she won the 2022 German Championship silver medals.
