Rider BMX Kruglova: a season without international departures – carte blanche to work on yourself

Russian BMX freestyle champion Ekaterina Kruglova says she is trying to focus on working on herself during the season without international competitions.

Moscow hosts the Russian championship in the “park” discipline. Kruglova won gold in this tournament.

– This season we won the two main starts. Do you feel like a team leader?

– I don’t know how to describe it. The competitors are getting stronger, the first place syndrome appears, it becomes more and more difficult to win every time,” Kruglova told .

– Over the past year, has the program been significantly strengthened?

– On the contrary, it has become cleaner and higher to jump. Some tricks began to reveal themselves regularly. With us, on a background of fatigue, we cannot achieve certain combinations, but the physical preparation is good, and it turns out.

– Do not turn your tongue to ask “are you satisfied with the season”. It is without international departures.

— Yes, there were only two competitions. I won the Russian championship, Spartakiad, it’s already good.

Do you allow yourself to watch international competitions?

– Definitely. I always try to watch, to follow the progress of the girls to compare myself to them.

Is the feeling of “we are not there” hard?

– It’s on the one hand. On the other hand, I think it’s kind of a lead for us. I can work calmly on myself, not be afraid to take risks. It’s carte blanche to work on yourself, I see it that way. Freedom of action appears.

What do you do besides sports?

– I’m lying at home (laughs). Sport is my life.

– Irek Rizaev managed to break through to an international departure, how are things with you?

– I also wanted to go to these competitions, but it turned out to be too expensive. At that time, there were very expensive tickets.

– Has women’s freestyle BMX greatly enriched the representation?

— Yes, more girls have started skating. Overseas, I know, 5-7 year old girls are tightly engaged. I started training when I was 16.

– What prompted you to get into this incomprehensible sport at the time?

– And at that time I tried a lot of things – there was a skateboard, a snowboard and roller skates. The bike hooked up, and off you go. Then the sport became Olympic, changed direction to “park”.

– How does the family perceive him in general?

— Responded appropriately. We came from Yekaterinburg to see my performance in the Russian Championship.

— Is there a place to skate in Yekaterinburg?

– Small covered playground. Our main locations are in Krasnodar and Kazan.

– Can you call yourself an extreme?

– Yes.

What is your most extreme act outside of sport?

“But I don’t risk much in life. The most extreme? Getting up at eight in the morning instead of seven (laughs).
