Beleniuk: Mr. Gutzeit, don’t be afraid of debate, it’s not like a champion

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion and MP plans to hold open discussion with Minister on November 13

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling and deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Jean Beleniuk appealed to the Minister of Youth and Sports Vadim Gutsait with a call not to avoid open debate.

“Representatives of the media write to me that yesterday they couldn’t get through to the respected Mr. Minister of Sports Vadim Gutzeit with a question about the debate all day yesterday.”

“Mr. Vadim, there is no need to be afraid – there is nothing wrong with debates, an absolutely democratic tool that our sports family and all Ukrainians who are interested in sports and its future definitely deserve – have respect for them. Pick up the phone. Being afraid of open debate is definitely not a champion!”

“Let me remind you, I’m waiting for Mr. Minister, tomorrow, November 13 at 12 o’clock at the State Enterprise “Olympic Training and Sports Center” Koncha-Zaspa.”

Beleniuk had previously challenged Gutzeit to a public debate. The deputy presented his program for the development of the National Olympic Committee and invited the minister to demonstrate his vision of the future of the NOC.

Sergei Bubka will leave the post of NOC President in the near future – he will not stand as a candidate for a new presidential term at the reporting and election assembly of the NOC on November 17.

In addition to Belenyuk and Gutzeit, the honored coach of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling Igor Malinsky is running for the presidency of the NOC. Olympic biathlon champion Elena Bilosyuk (Pidgrushnaya) withdrew her candidacy and will support Belenyuk in the elections.
