Gutzeit did not come to the debate with Belenyuk

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion and MP planned to hold an open discussion with the Minister today

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling and deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Jean Beleniuk said that the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit didn’t show up for the debate before the election of the President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

“Now let’s talk about consistency and respect for sports. Vadim Markovich did not come,” Beleniuk said.

The debate was to be held at the State Enterprise “Olympic Training and Sports Center” Koncha-Zaspa.

Beleniuk had previously challenged Gutzeit to a public debate. The deputy presented his program for the development of the National Olympic Committee and invited the minister to demonstrate his vision of the future of the NOC.

Sergei Bubka will leave the post of NOC President in the near future – he will not stand as a candidate for a new presidential term at the reporting and election assembly of the NOC on November 17.

In addition to Belenyuk and Gutzeit, the honored coach of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling Igor Malinsky is running for the presidency of the NOC. Olympic biathlon champion Elena Bilosyuk (Pidgrushnaya) withdrew her candidacy and will support Belenyuk in the elections.
