Legendary Ukrainian ex-football player and former coach of the Ukrainian national team Andrey Shevchenko can be member of the National Olympic Committee.
According to XSPORT, this will be announced during the General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine, which will be held on November 17.
Recall that Andriy Shevchenko became the ambassador of the presidential initiative UNITED24, which is designed to help Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invasion.
Sergei Bubka will leave the post of NOC President in the near future – he will not stand as a candidate for a new presidential term at the NOC Assembly on November 17. Jean Beleniuk, Vadim Gutzeit and Igor Malinsky are running for the NOC presidency.
Olympic biathlon champion Elena Bilosyuk (Pidgrushnaya) withdrew her candidacy and will support Belenyuk in the elections.
