Athletistic/ Figure Skating. Alexander Gorshkov, president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation, has died aged 76.

Gorshkov won Olympic gold in ice dancing with Lyudmila Pakhomova. He was six times world champion and six times European champion. Gorshkov has been leading the FFKKR since 2010. Since 2001 he has been a member of the executive committee of the Russian Olympic Committee.

In 2007, Gorshkov was awarded the Order of Merit to the Fatherland, 4th class, and in 2022 – 3rd class. In 1998, together with Pakhomova, they were inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
