99 members voted for him
Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk elected to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine.
99 members of the General Assembly of the NOC of Ukraine voted for Usyk. Four abstained, 11 more votes were against the election of the athlete.
Recently, the Oleksandr Usyk Foundation held a charity evening in the USA with a charity auction. The main lot of the auction was a sculpture of a boxing glove, which was created by the famous Lithuanian sculptor Sigitas Sniras.
Usyk also became an ambassador for the UNITED24 program. One of the tasks of the Ukrainian boxer will be the direction “Restoration of Ukraine”.
Also, during the General Assembly of the NOC, the head of the organization will be determined. Instead of Sergei Bubka, who announced his resignation, Zhan Beleniuk, Vadim Gutzeit or Igor Malinsky can become the president of the NOC.
