Shevchenko became one of the vice-presidents of the NOC of Ukraine

Legendary Ukrainian footballer and former head coach of the national football team Andrey Shevchenko elected Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.

It should be noted that the position of the first vice-president of the NOC will be taken by Alexey Perevezentsev, who previously worked as the general secretary in the organization. In addition to Shevchenko, Maria Bulatova and Aleksey Dneprov became vice-presidents of the NOC.

In June, Andriy Shevchenko, together with 1 + 1 media, launched the Sports Front project, designed to draw the attention of the international sports community to the war in Ukraine.

In May, Shevchenko became the first ambassador of the UNITED24 presidential initiative, which is designed to help Ukraine fight the Russian invasion. He also takes part in charity matches and projects to raise funds to help his native country.

The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team in October joined the Tribune of Heroes charity foundation and met with the families of Ukrainian ultras. Shevchenko transferred 400 thousand hryvnias to the organization.

Today, Vadim Gutzeit has been elected the new President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine. The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine won 123 votes during the voting.

The official himself said that he would leave his post in the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine if he wins the election of the president of the National Olympic Committee.

In addition to the election of the head of the NOC of Ukraine, there were also elections to the members of the organization. One of the members of the NOC was the Ukrainian boxer and world champion Oleksandr Usyk.
