The International Skating Union (ISU) expressed its condolences on the death of the head of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexandra Gorshkova .
Gorshkov died at the age of 77, we learned on Thursday, November 17.
– It is with deep sadness and regret that the ISU learned of the death of the President of the Russian Figure Skating Federation, Honorary Member of the ISU, Alexander Georgievich Gorshkov, who passed away on November 17 at the age of 76 .
The ISU pays tribute to Mr. Alexander Gorshkov, expresses its deepest condolences to the FFKKR, his family and friends, and will remember him with love, the ISU said in a press release.
Gorshkov won Olympic gold in ice dancing in tandem with Lyudmila Pakhomova, won the world and European championships six times. He has been leading the FFKKR since 2010.
