2020 World Junior Championships Bronze Medalist Russian Figure Skater Pierre Gumennik explained what he considers to be the reasons for the unstable performance of Russian single skaters.
Gumennik won the fourth stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow, performing four quadruple jumps in a free program.
– In Russia, men started jumping senior quadruples quite recently – rittberger, flip, lutz – so as not to make two quadruples, but more. Of course, no one deployed such content immediately. At first everyone struggles, falls, but over time it becomes easier, performance is more stable. I think soon our single skaters, including me, will perform all these jumps more consistently, “Championship” quotes Gumennik.
