russian swimmer Kliment Kolesnikov said he would be offended if his record at a distance of 50 meters on the back was not recognized by the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
On Wednesday, at the short course championship of Russia, which is held as part of the second stage of the Friendship Games in Kazan, Kolesnikov showed a result of 22.11 seconds and set a world record. The two-time Olympic medalist overtook Frenchman Florent Manaud, who in 2014 swam a distance in a 25-meter pool in 22.22 seconds.
– I don’t know if the disk is recognized, I didn’t recognize it. Of course, it would be a shame if that were not the case. But the result is the result. I am neutral on this,” Kolesnikov told reporters.
