President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), four-time Olympic champion Stanislav Pozdnyakov congratulated his daughter, two-time Olympic fencing champion Sofia Pozdnyakova with the “Most Athletic Family” award as part of the “Silver Doe‑2021” award.
On Friday, in the building of the Russian Olympic Committee, the winners of the Silver Doe-2021 prize of the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia (FSJR) are awarded. The awards ceremony was originally scheduled to take place in early 2022, but has been postponed to November.
– It is a great honor for us that the Federation of Sports Journalists of Russia marked Sofia and me in the nomination of the sports family. There is no greater happiness for a father than the success of his own children. I am happy that my daughter allowed me to receive the “Silver Doe” from the organizers for the second time today. And, of course, I am very proud that Sonya was rated separately by sports journalists and received her own graceful figure for the first time,” Pozdnyakov wrote on his Telegram channel.
As part of the celebration of the winners of this award, prizes are awarded to the top ten athletes, coach and team of the year based on the results of the traditional FSWR poll.
