Hearn: I really want Joshua to fight Wilder in 2023

The fight between the two ex-world champions could take place next summer

Famous promoter Eddie Hearn announced that he wants to organize a fight in 2023 between two former world heavyweight champions – Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. The fight could take place in the summer.

Deontay Wilder has been sanctioned to fight Andy Ruiz. AJ is eyeing his next opponent. We will continue communication [между представителями боксеров]. To be honest, I don’t see AJ fighting Wilder in March, but in the summer and definitely in 2023, yes,” Hearn said.

“This is a big fight. But we also have to see what happens with Tyson Fury. Wilder is an obvious fight. If Deontay and AJ fight in March, we’ll see a big fight this summer.”

“I really want to organize [бой] AJ with Wilder in 2023. This is an outstanding fight. And he [Джошуа] wants it too. He wants all the big fights and this is one of them.”

The WBC has previously sanctioned a fight between Wilder and Andy Ruiz. However, the parties have not yet agreed on a date for the fight.

Wilder defeated Finn Robert Helenius by knockout in the first round in October. After the fight, Deontay offered to fight the WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Joshua’s next fight is scheduled for late March or early April 2023. Most likely, the winner of the fight between Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin will become the opponent of the Briton.
