In September, the court banned the election of the head and leadership of the Association
Ukrainian Football Association plans to hold an extraordinary congress on 20 December. On it, the UAF is going to elect a new president and leadership of the Association.
Recall that in September, the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv decided that the Ukrainian Football Association is prohibited from preparing, holding and considering at the reporting and electoral XXV Congress of the UAF the agenda items regarding the election of the President of the UAF, the election of first vice-presidents, vice-presidents, members of the Executive Committee and the audit body of the UAF.
The reporting and election congress of the UAF was planned approximately for the second half of September. The congress was supposed to re-elect the current president of the UAF Andriy Pavelko for a new five-year term.
Earlier, the Kyiv Pechersk Court appointed Pavelko a preventive measure in the form of arrest for two months, until January 22, 2023. However, the UAF paid a bail of 10 million hryvnia for the head of the organization, after which Pavelko returned to work.
The President of the Association is suspected of participating in corrupt fraud with budget money. In 2018, the Schemes program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andriy Pavelko of corruption through a factory for the production of artificial fields.
