Ukrainian weightlifters Ruslan Kozhakin and Bogdan Taranenko will miss the upcoming World Cup in Colombia due to anti-doping rule violations.

The International Testing Agency (ITA) reported that the samples of Kozhakin and Taranenko were found to contain a banned substance. trimetazidine. Both Ukrainians were tested on October 27, 2022.

Kozhakin and Taranenko are suspended from participation in international and national competitions until the end of the investigation, which is being conducted by the ITA.

Recall that in May Taranenko became the bronze medalist of the Youth World Weightlifting Championship in Heraklion. He performed in the weight category over 109 kg.
