The Ukrainian forward has no plans to renew the contract with Dnepr-1
Forward of Dnepr-1 Artem Dovbik commented the situation with the transition to the European club and the extension of the contract with the Dnieper.
“No matter how eager I am, I know that in the winter they won’t let me leave the club. To do this, there must be some very good option that will suit Dnepr-1. It will not suit me anymore, but the club. Only on this condition will I be able to leave in the winter. In winter, only point transfers usually take place. If someone needs a striker, the clubs are willing to pay a lot of money. And so, all transfers take place only in the summer.
“I don’t wish for anything, what happened, happened. So that’s how it should have been. I wanted to leave, the options suited me. I considered these teams as a springboard.”
“A new contract with Dnepr-1? I don’t want to sign yet, so that later I don’t have to go to every transfer window and ask to let me go somewhere. I decided that I would not sign anything. Everything will depend on the club, how he will act. I don’t care about any numbers, my dream is to play in the top European championship.”
Earlier, Dovbik’s agent spoke about the amount for which Dnipro-1 is ready to sell the player.
It was also reported that Dnepr-1 plans to extend the contract with Dovbik. The current agreement between Artem and the Dnipros runs until December 31, 2023.
In the summer Dovbik was interested in Augsburg, Stuttgart, Trabzonspor, as well as a number of Italian clubs, including Salernitana and Torino. It is known that in the winter Salernitana wants to rent Dovbik with an option to buy for 7 million euros.
This season, Dovbik has scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists in 22 matches for the club from Dnipro. Recall that Artem became the top scorer of the group stage of the Conference League.
Dnipro-1 is leading the Ukrainian league, ahead of Shakhtar by five points. The national championship will resume in March.
