“A few weeks ago, we had a meeting of 37 sports ministers from almost all European countries, the aim of which was to limit the participation of Russian athletes in international sporting competitions as much as possible.
Now, I believe we need to move on. We stand for the exclusion of Russians in all sports federations headed by the International Olympic Committee, and the exclusion should be valid until the completion of the peace and compensation process for Ukraine.
It’s no secret that Russia has pursued a very aggressive diplomatic policy in recent years, which essentially consists of buying seats on the boards of major sports federations.
Their candidate is always followed by one of the powerful sponsors with Russian capital. Therefore, the exclusion of Russia’s capital from world sports must happen now, ”Bortnichuk quoted the words. Poland Radio24.pl.
