Coach of the Russian national team Yuri Borodavko told about the condition of the track in Chusovoy, which will host the third stage of the Russian Cup in cross-country skiing, praising the organizers of the competition
Earlier, Borodavko and another national team coach Yegor Sorin talked about small stones on the track. Later, Sport24 reported that in Chusovoy the athletes planned to race on training skis for fear of damaging the equipment on stones.
– Congratulations to the organizers. As promised, we worked with the track. There are very few small stones which are almost impossible to remove. However, everything is very tolerant, dignified. There are no problems,” Borodavko told .
– At the same time, reports appeared in the media that skiers plan to race in the stage on a set of training skis, because they are afraid of damaging the racing equipment. How is it going in your group?
At least I haven’t heard from anyone. A lot of work was done, a number of workers walked along the track, actually removing the stones. The quality of the track has improved considerably. Therefore, I don’t see any big problems, especially now that it’s snowing. Perhaps it will cover the remains of the stones.
– That is to say that the skiers in your group race on competition skis and not training skis?
— They will race on these skis which will work better.
The stage will take place from December 10 to 13.
