Vyalbe considers it necessary to speed up the process of bringing Russian legislation into line with WADA requirements

President of Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe called for speeding up the process of bringing the Russian Federation’s legislation into line with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).

On Friday, under the chairmanship of the Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin, a meeting of the government commission on the International Convention against Doping in Sport was held. Previously, it was decided to form a group of legal experts who will give a legal assessment of WADA’s requirements on the need to reform Russian legislation to bring it into line with the WADA Code.

“Every time we gather here for different reasons, I tell everyone that we have to remember that we are all in this together. Just paddle in one direction. I support the Director General of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) Veronika Viktorovna Loginova, because no one is a warrior on the pitch. I don’t think we need to discuss anything. The main thing is for the Duma to speed up the process,” Vyalbe said during a roundtable at the State Duma Committee on Physical Education and Sports.

Earlier, RUSADA reported that WADA considers the inconsistency of Russian legislation with the World Anti-Doping Code to be critical, and that the deadline for correcting this situation is until January 7.
