A demonstration took place at the headquarters of the organizing committee of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris against the increase in the costs of the event

A protest took place at the headquarters of the Organizing Committee for the 2024 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Paris against the increased budget for the event, according to Le Parisien.

On Monday, the 2024 Games Organizing Committee will hold a regular council meeting. He is expected to approve an increase in the Olympics budget of 400 million euros. This will increase the total cost of hosting the Games from €3.98 billion to €4.38 billion.

Dozens of people gathered for a demonstration on the Popular Front Square in Saint-Saint-Denis. They told reporters they opposed increased spending on the Olympics because it would have “huge consequences on their lives”.

The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024 and the Paralympics from August 28 to September 8.
