The Russian diving team held an off-season training camp in Uzbekistan. This week, the team returned to full-fledged competitive practice – at the Sautin Cup, Ternova won the 10m platform.
– What did you discuss with the coach after the competition?
– Coach said she was unhappy with some jumps, one didn’t do well at all, she says we have to work on the mistakes.
— Is it easier for you when you’re in the lead during the series?
– No matter. I adapt to the jump, you watch, of course, you calculate the points in your head. I’ve been in different situations, but I can say it’s harder to catch up, of course.
“It’s the first start of the season. What form are you in?
– I did not count on prizes, I fell ill before the competition. Physical form is not bad, but far from ideal. While “physics” is not enough. After the New Year there will be the Russian Cup, we will work.
— Did you like the rally in Uzbekistan?
– I liked it a lot, I think, like the whole team. Especially the first nine days in the mountains – a nearby mountain river, I even swam there, invigorating – made a fire, warmed up. Well, pilaf in Tashkent and dishes are all very tasty.
– Did the world pilaf champion cook for you?
– I didn’t believe it at first: is there such a thing? Then they googled it, really. He cooked for us and it was delicious. It’s nice to meet such people.
Do you watch the World Cup?
“I am a big football fan. Among the remaining teams, I support France. Previously for Portugal, but they were relegated. I love football, I watch, I get sick.
– In the story of Cristiano against Messi for Ronaldo?
– Well yes. They are both great players, but Ronaldo is my favorite. He is already 37 years old, and if he won the World Cup, he would have all the titles. It would be wonderful,” Ternovoy told .
