Joshua: 2023 is a big year for boxing and our fight with Wilder will definitely happen

Eddie Hearn says Joshua-Wilder could take place this summer

Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) sure that his fight with the ex-champion Deontay Wilder (43-2-1, 42 KOs) will be held next year.

“Let’s look to the future. This will definitely happen. We compete in the same weight category, in the same era, which means that our battle must take place. 2023 is approaching. This is going to be a big year for boxing and our fight will definitely take place.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn has said he wants to set up a fight between Wilder and Joshua in 2023. Hearn expects the fight to be possible in the summer. Hearn also said that Joshua will not decide on the next opponent until he selects a new coaching staff.

It is known that AJ wants to enter the ring in the next fight with Dillian Whyte. Recall that the former “interim” WBC heavyweight champion White defeated American Jermaine Franklin by decision.

Recall that the WBC sanctioned the fight between Andy Ruiz and Wilder. The winner of the fight will be the next mandatory challenger for the WBC heavyweight title held by Tyson Fury.
