Russian diving team head coach Svetlana Moiseeva said the team showed full programs at the Sautin Cup in order to enter 2023 with them.
The Sautin Cup was the last start in the framework of the Friendship Games, which took place in Kazan.
– We already had competitions after the offseason, but they were controlled starts, and at the Coupe Sautin almost all the guys presented their complete programs, someone even showed new jumps, someone was shy , retained. It’s such a first step for them to enter the new year with ready-made programs, without postponing until tomorrow,” Moiseeva told .
– There was an interesting jump on the men’s platform, unfortunately, Sasha Bondar did not work after the first jump, he could not manage on his own, but Sandro Rogava stably passed the entire program, was in head to the last jump – I think they were afraid to put in another jump, which could complicate the program. Artem Levin from Penza became the third, showing stable results. Nadia Trifonova showed a new full program on the springboard, and she already has the same set of jumps as the leaders of the national team.
We also had very young guys there – I would like to mention Yegor Sobolev, who won the springboard and the platform in group C, I really liked Anastasia Chistyakova on the platform, Ekaterina Shmeleva – young and with good inclinations, I hope they will grow into good athletes.
