Swimmers Rylov and Kolesnikov scored victories on day one of the Salnikov Cup

The first day of competition of the Vladimir Salnikov Cup in swimming ended in St. Petersburg.

Double Olympic champion Yevgeny Rylov won the 200m backstroke with a time of 1 minute 49.71 seconds. The second was Alexey Tkachev (+0.45), Dmitry Savenko (+0.48) completed the top three.

2020 Olympics Silver Medalist Kliment Kolesnikov became the best in the 50 m freestyle – 20.93 seconds. The second result was shown by Daniil Markov (+0.38), the third – Andrey Minakov (+0.45).

Alexander Kudashev won the 200 butterfly in 1:51.49. Silver went to Alexander Kharlanov (+0.06), bronze to Egor Pavlov (+1.26).

Ilya Borodin became the winner of the 400m individual medley with a meet record of 3 minutes 57.88 seconds. Maksim Stupin was second (4:06.01), while Eduard Valiakhmetov was third (4:08.07).

Over a distance of 400 m freestyle, Daniil Shatalov took first place (3:41.76). Silver went to Denis Adeev (3:43.67), bronze went to Roman Akimov (3:44.11).

Kirill Prigoda won the 50m breaststroke in 25.74. The second time was shown by Oleg Kostin (+0.15), the third — by Kirill Strelnikov (+0.74).

The contest will end on December 18.
