“I wouldn’t talk about ending my career under any circumstances” – Averbukh on Kolyada skipping the Russian championship

Olympic silver medalist in ice dancing, choreographer and director Ilya Averbukh reacted to the news Mikhail Kolyada participation in the Russian championship.

Earlier, the athlete’s coach Alexei Mishin told that the skater will miss the upcoming tournament in Krasnoyarsk due to health issues.

I think Misha is upset. They prepared to the end with Alexei Nikolaevich Mishin and decided whether he could cope with anything. But I would in no way speak of the end of a career. Audiences can see Mikhail at our New Year’s performances. This is understandable, since there is no need to jump quadruple jumps. For the championship of Russia, apparently, health fails.

But Misha can always have a say. He is definitely a very talented person. It should be remembered that Misha is a bronze medalist of the World Championship and silver medalist of the Olympic Games in our team, and a medalist of the European Championship, as well as multiple medalist of the Russian Championship. He is already a great athlete, – quotes the words of Averbukh “Championship”.

The Russian figure skating championship will be held in Krasnoyarsk from December 22 to 25.
