Figure skater Mikhail Kolyada does not think about ending his sports career due to illness and missing the Russian figure skating championship, figure skating coach Tatyana Mishina told .
Earlier, Kolyada’s coach Alexei Mishin told that the athlete will miss the tournament due to health issues. Mishina herself told the media that the skater had an exacerbation of sinusitis.
– He was preparing for the Russian championship until everyone left (for the training camp) in Novogorsk. He had no idea to end his career, he never told Alexei (Mishin – Ed.) about it and was ready to play. He had surgery about two years ago, so the general condition and, probably, the current flu epidemic has complicated a soft spot. Mikhail has already bought tickets from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk, but unfortunately he will miss the championship. I think he will continue to prepare and will not end his career, he has to recover and prepare for future starts, for Grand Prix Finals, Mishina told .
The Russian Championship will take place from December 22 to 25 in Krasnoyarsk.
