Barry Hearn: Joshua is at a crossroads in his career, he can’t afford another loss

Anthony plans to fight Dillian Whyte in the near future

Founder of promotional company Matchroom Boxing Barry Hearn spoke about the future plans of the ex-heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.

“He’s at a crossroads in his career, Anthony can’t afford another loss.”

“Now Joshua would rather fight Dillian Whyte. But the fight we all want to see eventually is AJ vs. Fury. This fight should take place and I think it will take place at the end of 2023.”

Joshua wants to enter the ring in his next fight with Dillian Whyte. AJ in 2015 defeated Dillian, who then suffered the first defeat of his professional career. After the fight, Joshua said he was ready to give White a rematch.

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury says he’s ready to fight Joshua for free. Recall that the Gypsy King offered AJ to enter the ring on December 3rd. However, the parties did not agree on the financial aspects of the battle.

Recall that in his last fight in August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.
