Athletistic/ Others. Today, December 17, the Congress of the Russian Chess Federation was held. On it elections of the head of the organization took place. Andrey Filatov won again. 58 delegates voted for him. Sergei Karyakin got only seven votes. Karjakin commented after the FSR congress.
– I’m happy, but on the other hand, everything has to be decided according to the situation. When I have the opportunity to participate, I always do. In the last three tournaments, I took first place twice and second place once. But now there are few tournaments, the situation with international competitions is difficult, few tournaments are held in Russia. This is one of the main complaints against the federation – there are practically no tournaments where the best Russian chess players could play to keep fit, – said Karyakin.
