Ukrainian player for the first time performed at the world championship
Ukrainian dartsman Vladislav Omelchenko talked about his debut on World Cup 2023 darts PDC.
“In the future, after we liberate Ukraine, darts will get a huge boost. I hope it becomes even more popular than before.”
“At the beginning, it was very hard for me to adapt, because this is the first time I’m playing internationally on such a huge stage and with such a huge audience. In the first set it was very difficult to enter the game, but then it became easier. I started to feel my game and feel better. I didn’t see all the viewers’ support, but I’m very happy with it.”
Omelchenko became the first Ukrainian player to take part in the World Championship of the Professional Darts Corporation. The Ukrainian lost in three sets to Englishman Luke Woodhouse in the first round.
The 2023 World Cup will end on January 3rd. The reigning champion, Scotsman Peter Wright, confidently made it to the third round of the competition.
“This is definitely going to give a boost to darts in Ukraine.” 🇺🇦
