Russian cyclist Savely Laptev, who signed a contract with continental cycling team Astana Qazaqstan Development Team, noted that from the opening of the project he wanted to make it happen.
The team also included Neil Aguilera Norba (Spain), Juan Carlos Lopez (Colombia), Harold Martin Lopez (Ecuador), Daniil Pronsky (Kazakhstan), Andrei Remhe (Kazakhstan), Davide Toneatti (Italy), Alexander Vinokurov (Kazakhstan), Nicolas Vinokurov (Kazakhstan), Maxim Taraskin (Kazakhstan), Orken Slamzhanov (Kazakhstan), Simone Zanini (Italy).
– Since we learned of the opening of this project, my goal was to get there. In the end, my coach was told that everything would depend on my performance in 2022. I managed to prove myself and they signed a contract with me, which I am very happy about.
— What kind of runner are you by specialization?
– I trained at the Locosphinx. He spoke for himself. Track, highway – there is no other way. On the highway, I would call myself an all-around racer, but still more with an eye for the classics. My sprint is good. I would say if a small group passes the climb, I can compete for the finish line,” Laptev told a correspondent.
In 2022, Laptev won the Velo Alanya junior stage race, the Hudex Autonomycos Garrovillas de Alconetar one-day race, two Vuelta Comarcas stages and the Volta Consello de Loule stage.
