Enbert said that for the Pavlyuchenko / Khodykin duo, skipping the Russian championship would not be a disaster

Olympic silver medalist in figure skating Alexandre Enbert don’t consider that Daria Pavlyuchenko and Denis Khodykin skipping the Russian championship in Krasnoyarsk would be a disaster.

– Pavlyuchenko and Khodykin will miss the Russian Championship due to injury, as they have missed all previous starts of the season. What a big loss for them? What could threaten such a big gap in pair skating?

I don’t think it’s a huge loss for them. When training resumes, I don’t think there will be any prejudice against them, that they failed, and that everyone has moved on. They will be able to get into shape on their own, so it’s not an overall loss.

Of course, it is unpleasant for them, for the audience, because Pavlyuchenko and Khodykin showed special figure skating with various acrobatic tricks that were about to be allowed. It was kind of an attraction and it would be great to see different types of figure skating at the Russian Championships.

Previously they worked with Nina Moser, now with Eteri Tutberidze and Maxim Trankov, figure skating is completely different. And to see such acrobatic figure skating from Pavlyuchenko and Khodykin … You may like it, you may not like it, but that would be interesting, that would be something else. It’s hard for me to imagine anyone doing something similar at the Russian Championship.

For the public it’s a loss, for the guys…a loss, but not a catastrophe. I think they will recover and continue to delight us with their discoveries, – quotes the words of Enberat “Championship”.

The Russian Championship will take place from December 22 to 25 in Krasnoyarsk.
