Four-time Olympic swimming champion, President of the All-Russian Swimming Federation Vladimir Salnikov re-elected to the new Executive Committee of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC).
On Tuesday, the annual Olympic meeting was held with the participation of representatives of All-Russian sports federations, territorial Olympic councils, Olympic academies and other ROC member organizations, as well as famous coaches and athletes. As part of the meeting, elections to the governing bodies of the ROC were held. Notably, Stanislav Pozdnyakov, four-time Olympic saber fencing champion, was re-elected as head of the ROC.
The vice-presidents of the ROC for the next four years will be: Vladimir Kozhin, Gennady Timchenko, Vasily Titov and Sergey Shishkarev.
As noted on the ROC website, the new composition of the Executive Committee included:
1. Yuri Avdeev – Chairman of the St. Petersburg Olympic Council
2. Yuri Borzakovsky – Chairman of the ROC Athletes’ Commission, Olympic champion
3. Olga Brusnikina – President of the Russian Federation of Synchronized Swimming, three-time Olympic champion
4. Elena Vyalbe – President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, three-time Olympic champion
5. Nikolai Gulyaev – President of the Russian Skating Union, Olympic champion
6. Dmitry Dubrovsky – President of the Russian Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Federation
7. Elena Isinbayeva – member of the International Olympic Committee, two-time Olympic champion
8. Vladimir Kozhin – President of the Winter Olympic Sports Association
9. Igor Levitin – Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation
10. Victor Maygurov – President of the Russian Biathlon Union
11. Mikhail Mamiashvili – President of the Russian Wrestling Federation, Olympic champion
12. Natalya Melnikova – President of the Central Olympic Academy
13. David Muslims – President of the Russian Union of Athletes, Olympic champion
14. Rodion Plitukhin – General Secretary of the Russian Olympic Committee
