President of the Russian Diving Federation Stanislav Druzhinin expressed the hope that his experience would be useful for the work of the Control and Audit Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee.
On Tuesday, the annual Olympic meeting was held in Moscow, during which Pozdnyakov was unanimously re-elected as head of the ROC. Druzhinin was elected to the Control and Audit Commission of the Russian Olympic Committee.
— First of all, I would like to emphasize that the re-election of Stanislav Pozdnyakov is a positive moment for Russian sport. In addition, I consider it important that Vladimir Sengleev be re-elected as Director General. I was elected to the Control and Audit Commission, I hope that my experience in the control and monitoring bodies will help the Commission and that our already established cooperation with the ROC will only be strengthened.
– Following the meeting, the president of the ROC mentioned the possibility of participating in the 2024 Olympics. How do you assess the chances?
– For my part, I can say that at the congress of the International Swimming Federation, the question has already been asked about our possibility of participating in competitions in Asia. And that would be a big step forward for us. Of course, we can only hope to participate in the Olympics and work there. No one here can be sure at this time, we can only hope. But we can say with confidence that our team is in good shape and will be ready to prove themselves if they are allowed to compete.
