Olympic figure skating champion Dmitry Solovyov in a conversation with said that at the Russian championship he will support Kamil Valiev as well as for good skating in all its forms.

The tournament will take place in Krasnoyarsk from December 22 to 25.

– This Russian championship will be different, since this season there are no European and World Championships planned. Of course, the spirit of competition, as always, will be present, but as an athlete who has passed international starts, it seems to me that the objectives of this tournament will not be so clear. Each time, I insist on the fact that our athletes must work not only in Russia, but also on other sites: the Olympic Games, the World Championships, the European Championships in order to prove to everyone that we are the best.

I will watch the Russian Championship depending on my free time, but, of course, it will be interesting. I’m very happy that my favorite sport is growing in popularity every year, it’s encouraging to see that in the future it will be even better.

– This summer, out of season, I managed to skate with Kamila Valieva as a couple. It was a pleasant surprise to me that a fragile sixteen-year-old girl had a very strong character. I think her inner fire isn’t quite revealed yet, there’s huge potential, and it’s going to open up in all directions: comedy, sports, there’s still a lot ahead of her. I will support Kamila, as for my friend, and for good skating in all its forms, so that the Russian championship will be at the level of the world championship,” Soloviev told .

Valieva won the first stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Moscow this season and also won the third stage in Kazan.
