The men’s inclusion is a great achievement of everyone who has worked for many years to make it happen,” Al-Musallam quoted FINA’s official website as saying.

Under the new rules, a team of 8 athletes can include a maximum of two men. At the same time, the presence of men in the team is not mandatory. In the past, men could only compete in mixed duets, but this discipline was not included in the Olympic program.
