Figure skater Elizaveta Tuktamysheva in a conversation with journalists after a free program in Krasnoyarsk, she explained why she felt calmer at the World Championships than at the Russian Championships.
At the tournament, held in Krasnoyarsk, 26-year-old Tuktamysheva won bronze, losing to Sofya Akatieva and Kamila Valieva.
– You wrote on social networks that it was a pleasure for you to give a press conference. First, thank you, and second, what is the reason?
– I guess I miss international competitions a bit. There are constant press conferences after the short, free programs. It seems like a small detail, but it seemed to bring me closer to other competitions. Therefore, such emotions, – said Tuktamysheva “”.
– During the season, you said that the emotions during the international departure and the Russian national match could not be compared. What about the Russian championship and the world championship?
– At the World Championships, I feel more relaxed if I go there. I cannot compare the atmosphere, but in terms of organization, competition and everything else, the Russian championship is always at the highest level.
– Why do you feel calmer at the World Championships?
– Because the biggest competition and the most exciting start in principle is the women’s championship of Russia. When you go on the world stage, you understand that if you do everything to the maximum, then you can count on a medal. That’s if we talk about my condition over the past two years.
So you get nervous sometimes? From the outside it looks like you are still as calm as possible.
“There is excitement, of course. I’m just trying my behavior to give the brain a signal that I’m not worried. It’s like if you smile, the brain will think you are happy. The same is true if you are calm.
