The fight was supposed to take place on January 28

Undisputed world champion in junior middleweight Jermell Charlo broke his left arm in two places at training camp. Title defense, which the American planned to hold with Tim Tszyupostponed.

“I sparred and landed a good shot, and as soon as he hit the target, I knew that something was wrong. I immediately felt my hand throbbing, ”said Charlo.

“I had two X-rays and an MRI to see what was wrong. It turned out that the arm was broken in two places. I hate this feeling. My arm will be in a cast for two months. I’m as disappointed as the fans, if not more, because this was my first chance to defend an undisputed title.”

“For people like me, I would beat Tim Tszyu with one hand, but the doctors and the boxing commission will not allow this. I’ve been training since July and I’m hitting harder than ever. After my hand heals, I will come back even stronger to protect my legacy.”

Jermell won the title of undisputed champion by knocking out Brian Castagno in May 2022. The first title defense with Tim Tszyu was supposed to take place on January 28.
