The American entrusted his team to collect information about the Ukrainian boxer
American welterweight boxer Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs) spoke about preparing for the fight for the interim IBF world title with the Ukrainian Karen Chukhadzhyan (21-1, 11 KOs).
“No, I haven’t done any research on him. I let my father, my brothers and my team do these things.”
“I didn’t know too much about him at all, but from what my father and my brothers are saying, we have something for him. I take every fight seriously, I don’t relax in front of anyone. Every fight I have, I train like it’s a world title fight.”
“I’m going to beat him up and go home. Go knock out, bring the interim IBF belt home and chill with my family.”
“I am always closed off and always focused on my opponents. I never lose sight of them and we will be ready on January 7th. It doesn’t matter how many rounds there are. If there are eight, then eight, twelve, then twelve. If I knock him out in the first round, I won’t get paid for overtime. I do not care”.
Jaron, after his victory, became a contender for the championship fight with Errol Spence for the IBF title. However, Spence is scheduled to fight WBC mandatory challenger Keith Thurman.
Chukhadzhyan had his last fight in early July. Karen defeated Australian Blake Minto to defend his IBF Inter-Continental title.
Chukhadzhyan vs. Ennis will take place in Washington at the Premier Boxing Champions tournament on January 7th.
